This is an 'okay' sequel, though I must say it does very well in keeping with the continuity of both franchises, which is a plus. The movie starts off how ALIEN vs. PREDATOR (2004) ended, with the baby alien chest-bursting out of the dead predator. The Aliens cause the ship to crash near a small town in Colorado, where they quickly take a hunter and his son. Aliens burst out of them, then go down to the sewers to get the homeless population. Then there's the original 'Predalien', which started this whole mess and it is an impressive looking monster. In the town, there's subplots about a guy who recently got out of jail to help his younger brother who is on the same beaten track and a girl he's interested in. There's also a new sheriff unsure of himself and an Army woman and her kid in the mix. And this Army woman looks more than a little like Ellen Ripley?
A lone Predator goes to clean up the mess, though it's a little too late by the time he arrives on earth. He also kills any humans who get in his way. There's a lot more Predator vs. Alien fighting than in the first movie. The ending is exactly what you think it will be, with a big Atomic explosion, which obliterates almost every bit of Extraterrestrial. Almost.
If they make a third AvP movie, it would make sense to have it take place in the future, as I think they've done everything they can 'in the present', with these two films.
