This third movie of the series has the main characters venture beyond the walls that surround the ruined Chicago, only to find an inhospitable, polluted world. Tris (Shailene Woodley) and Four (Theo James) are accompanied by her brother and a girl. They make it to an area which was once O'Hare Airport, where there's a group of people-and it seems this group is the one responsible for the caste system existing in Chicago. They have a much more advanced technology, from force fields to flying craft. It's revealed that it was all an experiment, to breed a genetically perfect human untainted from the toxicity of the world. And Tris just happens to be that genetically "normal" person they've been hoping to achieve. As with the other previous films this is about a half-hour too long, but it's better than the second one-and Jeff Daniels portrays a decent villain.
