It's 1987. Seth Hampton's friend Mark seems to be abducted by aliens during a power outage in their small Maine town. Two years later Seth is still traumatized by the ordeal. At the time everyone, including Mark's girlfriend, Jen, had blamed him for the disappearance. Now, similar blackouts are happening in the area. Two hunters come across what they think is a dead body in the forest but it turns out to be Mark, who is naked and in a fetal position. He awakens, emits a weird shrieking noise, then becomes psychotic, killing the two men and stealing their clothes. Now, he heads back to his house, slaying people along the way. He injects his victim's bodies with something that comes from the long, eel-like tentacle that shoots out of his mouth, then sets them in the basement. The bodies develop a cocoon around them and will presumably turn into a hybrid alien creature like him. Seth and Jen patch up their differences and end up battling the alien/serial killer Mark, who wants to change them.
ALMOST HUMAN does seem like a movie that was made in the 1980's. Unfortunately it also has a story that's been done several hundred times in the past twenty-five years. Recommended if you're a die-hard alien abduction movie fan.
