The newest from producer Joe Zaso, directed by Ray Schwetz, is an old-fashioned murder mystery doused with plenty of gore. A woman is stalked and then beheaded by a masked assailant at the beginning of the film, which then goes to the story about a group of people invited to dinner at a stranger's house. They all think it's for some kind of sales pitch-when in truth it's for something far more sinister. When they start eating the various meats and there are all these conspicuous close-ups, you just KNOW what happened to that murdered woman's body...The better actors are Tina Krause, in a somewhat subdued role for her, Sarah K. Lippmann as a bespectacled anal personality type and Joe Zaso as this loony doctor. Although the camera lighting and production values are simply okay the special effects are great, particularly when one of the character's heads is blown off with a shotgun. If you're in the mood for a SOV movie with a 70's feel then you'll dig this. It's released on a double DVD along with an earlier Cinema Image movie, GUILTY PLEASURES, which I had reviewed a few years ago.For more info check out www.cinemaimages.net
