This season is much darker in tone, as the new Commonwealth is becoming corrupt and Dylan Hunt isn't too thrilled about this. Tyr Anasazi makes an appearance for the worst, asking Beka to come live with him and abandon her crewmates. She accepts, which leaves the viewer wondering, until the pivotal moment when she makes her decision what side she's on. And Tyr and Becka do finally sleep together.
Rev Bem, their former Magog shipmate, makes an appearance, sort of deranged, as do the Magog themselves, who are more evolved in appearance. They aren't so ape-like and wear clothes and use weapons.
In the last few episodes they have a confrontation with the Magog worldship, this huge structure housing billions of the creatures, and it seems as if almost everyone is killed except for Captain Dylan Hunt, who turns out to be something more than what he appears to be.
A lot of the episodes had flashback sequences and many take place entirely on the ship, which is probably because of budgetary reasons. And the finale, in which almost everyone is apparently killed, left a lot to be desired. Hopefully it's cleared up what happened in the beginning of Season Five.
