The premise of this movie is that the dinosaurs had never died out. Instead, they evolved into intelligent, humanoid shaped beings who are able to disguise themselves as humans using advanced holographic technology. At first, we see two detectives who are after a suspect-and then learn that this guy is being hunted down by them because he found out the truth about the dinos. One of the detective's disguise is damaged and we see that he's really a veloceraptor.Contrary to keeping the status quo there's another group of dinos who want to reveal themselves and claim the planet from the human mammals. They've been allowing their members to eat people as well. The council of dinosaurs (which include Faye Dunaway and Isaac Hayes!) doesn't want this to happen just yet.In a side story one of the detectives has a daughter who may or may not be what she seems. Somehow she is different than them. This movie idea is both cool and stupid and I had mixed feelings. It's interesting having the dinosaurs highly evolved but dumb in that all the kinds of dinosaurs evolved, not just one species. There are 'people' who are Tyrannosaurs, Veloceraptors and Triceratops! I bet this is the first time Daniel Baldwin has put Triceratops on his list of roles. Ultimately this is an alien movie that has just substituted dinos for extraterrestrials.
