A rogue planet is discovered entering the solar system and it turns out to be a duplicate Planet Earth. A drunk young woman named Rhoda gets in a car accident and kills the wife and child of a music composer, John Burroughs (William Mapother of LOST and THRESHOLD). She goes to jail for a few years and when she's released the Duplicate Earth is much larger in the sky. She wonders what her duplicate's life is like there. In fact, she enters a lottery to be one of the people who will be allowed to visit that planet. She has nothing to lose since her life can't really get any worse. Meanwhile, she wants to make amends for what she did to the composer's life--and poses as a cleaning woman. They become friends--and then more than friends. Then, she reveals to him who she is. She doesn't take it well.
This is a very low key, engaging movie with sci-fi overtones. Recommended.
