A young woman is murdered on a spaceship, the first murder to ever happen there. This is of concern to the inhabitants of the massive craft, as they are 50 years—halfway—into their voyage to the nearest habitable planet. Now is the time they have to make the decision to continue on their journey or turn back to Earth. The twist is that this ship was secretly launched in the late 1960's, so what is currently happening is in the present day. We're introduced to an assortment of characters, from Captain Denninger to his wife, Viondra (Battlestar's Tricia Helfer) and the people she controls, to the other workers in this small, controlled society. It's a little bit like MAD MEN in space.
On Earth, we're introduced to Harris Enzmann (Gil Bellows), who is among those who know about this mission. He's somehow able to keep tabs on what's going on. There's also Samantha Krueger (MUTANT X's Lauren Lee Smith), who is investigating and finds out too much. There's also a great twist to what's actually going on—which is a big payoff in the last episode.
This is an interesting mini-series. If you liked BABYLON 5 and BATTLESTAR GALACTICA you'll probably enjoy this. Recommended.
