Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) is put to death by lethal injection-but awakens in a strange facility in Spain as part of an experiment. The woman in charge explains they are searching for a cure to violence-but something else is going on.
The idea of a murderer put to death-to become a secret agent-has been done before, particularly with THE DESTROYER books series (made into the film REMO WILLIAMS: THE ADVENTURE BEGINS in the 90's, and LA FEMME NIKITA), so that already had that going against it. And while the movie is visually interesting and has great production value it doesn't make a lot of sense. I'm sure it's just like the video game.
