Johnny Depp portrays Commander Spencer Armacost, a shuttle pilot. He and his partner are outside of the shuttle when there's a mysterious explosion. They remember little of what happened, though both appear to be fine. However, once he returns to Earth Spencer begins to act like a different person. Or so his wife, Jillian (Charlize Theron) perceives. She becomes pregnant-- but what she's pregnant with may not be entirely human. The movie is a cross between RoseMary's Baby and an alien invasion movie and works on both levels. Great performances, a suspenseful script make this an enjoyable horror thriller.
