It's fifty or so years in the future. Most of our radioactive waste is stored in containment facilities in "the Red Zone", where it's converted into more power. However, this zone is over 300 miles wide and is uninhabitable. The facility is old and a safety inspector, Abby Dixon (Sarah Habel) is sent in to make sure everything is working properly. At first it seems abandoned but then she meets the technician, Robinson (Dominic Monaghan) who is a bit quirky. She asks where the scientist, Zek (Tom SIzemore), is (the only other person stationed there) and he says that he took off on a walk and hasn't come back yet. When Zek fails to return the next day she goes out in protective suit and finds him unconscious. She drags him back-and this is when problems arise. The technician tells her that the doctor is crazy-and when the technician steps out the doctor tells her that he's an imposter. Who can she believe?
Although there's only four people in the entire movie it remains interesting and keeps you guessing at to what's really going on. Habel is miscast as the lead, though I liked her in the tv shows RIVERDALE and CHANCE. If you're in the mood for a very grim, humorless movie then check this out.
