It's sometime in the distant future. All of humanity lives behind huge walls because outside of those walls is a wasteland-and an untold amount of giant humanoids they call Titans live there. A group of three teenaged friends decide to venture up to this forbidden wall and draw unwanted attention by a massive Titan who breaks a hole in the wall. Then, these giants start coming through. For the most part they look like humans but a bit off, whether it be eyes or mouths slightly off-place. It's like a zombie movie, if the zombies were hundreds of feet tall and psychotic. I found them very disturbing. Time passes and the rest of the humans have fled to the inner wall, where the higher society people live. One of the teenagers has joined the army and they plan to venture back out into the area where the giants have broken in. It's revealed that the only way to kill them is to slice the back of their necks, after which they'll basically evaporate into thin air. During a climactic battle one of the main characters is swallowed by one of the gargantuans-and something strange happens-he's able to physically take control of the creature and help his fellow soldiers battle the crazy giants.
ATTACK ON TITAN is a very strange amalgamation of giant monster and zombie movie. Highly recommended.
