Allie Pennington, a teenaged girl (Brittany Robertson), moves to a new house when her teacher parents get jobs teaching at the local university. They teach Medievel history. That first morning she has dreams of being a Knight. At school she meets Will, head of the football team, his friend Lance, and Miles, who has psychic powers. He can see the future. In history class they get class assignments about King Arthur and Camelot. Allie picks "The Order of the Bear". She has no idea what that is and asks her teacher. He tells her to ask her parents, who know all about it. It's a secret society that believes King Arthur and his Court will be reincarnated in a time of need. But the evil Mordred will also return, hell bent on preventing this return. It looks like Will's step-brother, Marco, is Mordred. He does such horrible things as pick on Miles and puts candy bugs on food when he tries to ruin a party. Allie comes to believe that Will is King Arthur. When she asks him what he wants to do with his life, he says that he wants to be President. And the architecture of Avalon High is exactly that of ancient Camelot. Even Lance and Will's girlfriend hook up, like in the legend. But there are some surprising twists and people aren't who you think they are. I enjoyed this Disney Channel movie but it got my mind going to the possibilities of an "R" rated version, sort of like what CRUEL INTENTIONS did to DANGEROUS LAISONS. Now THAT would be very cool.
