Ann Gentry is a social worker who gets assigned to check on the Wadsworth family. They consist of an overbearing, Joan Crawford-like mother (Ruth Roman), and her two daughters. There's also "Baby", an adult man who they insist is severely retarded. The truth is, is that they've kept him being a baby, by shocking him with a cattle prod or locking him in the closet when he doesn't act like a baby. The social worker begins to suspect that things aren't right. Tensions arise and the Wadsworth family complain about her to her employers, who pull her off the job. But she's determined to rescue baby from this insane family. Things escalate and the family try to kill Ann--but she escapes their home, with the help of baby, and manages to steal him away. In fact, she wants baby all to herself, for a very specific reason that all makes a deranged sort of sense by the final scene of the movie. This is a very weird flick. Highly recommended.
