Ted (Michael Pare' of Streets of Fire, The Philadelphia Experiment) gets bitten by a werewolf in South America after his girlfriend is slain by the creature. He returns to the U.S, to visit his sister, Janet (Mariel Hemingway) and her son. They have a German Shepherd named Thor, who is protective of his family. He senses that something isn't right with Uncle Ted. Ultimately, this family pet is what saves their lives when he transforms into a huge upright werewolf. This is a classic werewolf tale, up there with The Wolfman, The Howling and An American Werewolf in London. Highly recommended.
