This animated movie tries to bridge the gap between BATMAN BEGINS and THE DARK KNIGHT. It's not one movie but a series of different shorts of Batman's exploits in Gotham City. Stylistically the animation ranges from that of the MTV animated SPIDERMAN to wide-eyed Japanese-looking anime Bruce Wayne so just when you get used to the look of the piece it goes on to the next story in which they are depicted very differently. And none of the stories are that memorable except for the first one, which is told from the point of view of a group of skateboarding kids who relay their encounters with "The Bat Man". One sees him as this amorphous shadowy shape-shifter, another says he can fly like a bat and another has him with body armor, like Iron Man. The only thing this string of stories made me was tired. The movie is simply not engaging.
