The premise is that three supernatural beings are living together in the same apartment flat. They are Mitchell, a vampire, George, a werewolf, and Annie, a ghost. Mitchell is trying desperately not to indulge his vampiric urges, George is worried about transforming into a beast and killing someone when the moon is full, and Annie wants to discover why she's still haunting her old apartment. By the end of the six episodes of this first season, these things are more or less resolved.
What I liked best about this is that it features a great looking werewolf costume and the end confrontation between the morphed George and the evil vampire is a hoot, bringing to mind those Universal monster mashes from the 1940's.
The unaired pilot is much more gritty, though the first episode is very much a continuation of that story. Only one of the three original actors returns, Russell Tovey as the cursed George.
BEING HUMAN is the best monster oriented show since ANGEL and BUFFY went off the air.
