A young woman (Nora Zehetner of HEROES) haunted by the horrific death of her older sister (Carly Pope) in a car fire returns to her hometown to attend the funeral of her sister's father-in-law, who had taken her in after her sister died. In a flashback we're shown how the sister was burned while her younger, fourteen-year-old sister was driving, and how she went through physical therapy and eventually died. Or did she?
She starts investigating the circumstances of her older sister's death but all of the documentation is vague. It's also suspicious that the doctor who signed the death certificate was her own husband. And she was never embalmed.
There are some gruesome burn makeup effects, as nasty as those in the Masters of Horror installment RIGHT TO DIE. And Zehetner is an interesting actress to look at. She kind of reminds me of a Persian cat.
