When a group of friends decide to cross a lake in a rowboat in order to have a party on the other side, they are attacked by a huge, prehistoric looking fish that's determined to eat them all. There is no wind and it breaks their oars, so they are stuck. It's a lot like that segment in CREEPSHOW (which is like Hitchcock's LIFEBOAT) with the blob in the lake eating people, only this time it's a carnivorous fish. I hated all the characters, who are basically excuses to get devoured, but the animatronic special effects are great. It's been a long while since I've seen a killer animal movie that didn't rely on lame CGI effects. Check out this movie for that alone. Recommended.
