It's babysitter Ashley's last night of watching over thirteen-year-old Luke. Her family is moving away to another town. So Luke wants to make the moves on his sitter-until things take a creepy turn and it seems as though they are being stalked-and robbed-by intruders. His best friend, Garrett, shows up and it's soon revealed that the two boys had this all planned out-to scare Ashley so that Luke could "rescue" her. She's furious. and threatens to tell his parents. So what does he do next? He knocks her out, ties her to a chair, and embarks on fulfilling his plan for the night, a plan his friend doesn't even know about. Let's just say there's lot of terrorizing and death involved.
BETTER WATCH OUT is a decent Christmas horror movie, sort of like HOME ALONE if the kid was a psychopath. My only complaint is that it's PG-13, which tones down some of the more violent scenes-and it would've been more effective and consistent with the movie if it was an all out bloodbath. This kid is evil!
