The intention of this family movie, I think, is to be an update of HARRY & THE HENDERSONS. The story revolves around Percy Caldwell, a teen who has a crush on Madison, the hot teenager who is not only a cheerleader but sings in her own band. In an effort to help her out and make an impression he pisses off two dimwitted locals who chase him in their pickup while he rides his dirt bike. He's force off road and lands in the woods, unconscious. When he wakes up he's face to face with a Bigfoot, who has been displaced by a nearby fire. The first part of the movie has him with his friends and then going to the woods to talk with bigfoot. Then, those two thugs, who also hunt, want to capture the creature and end up imprisoning him in a cage in a barn. Of course, Percy and his friends, including the teenager, manage to rescue Bigfoot and take him home, where his parents aren't all that surprised about the huge anthropoid. In the end he is able to go back to the forest and back to his own kind.
The bigfoot costume is decent enough, though he's not all that tall and is old, with a gray beard. HARRY & THE HENDERSONS, even the TV series, had a way better bigfoot. My biggest problem is that it's sort of weird that the kids are 14-15 years old when it probably would have worked better if they were 10-12 years olds. And the actor who portrays Percy just seems way too gay, so I was never convinced he was interested in the girl. Another minus is Angie Everhart, who portrays Percy's mother. She is a terrible actress and since she's getting up there in years it just makes you think to yourself, "Man, she's getting old and she still can't act".
If you're a bigfoot movie completist then you'll probably want to see this, though you may be fast-forwarding through all the non-bigfoot parts. Directed by Kevin Tenney, who has done many better movies.
