While not quite as good as the first two movies this is still an entertaining flick, writer/director David Goyer opting more for sarcastic comedy than drama. BLADE is caught on videotape when he inadvertently kills a human and the FBI is quickly on his trail. But some of the agents are familiars of the vampires, working with them.Parker Posey (FRANKENSTEIN- TV 2004) is the vampire villain, over the top with nastiness. The character of Hannibal King, who used to be a vampire and the vampiress' play-thing, provides the humorous anecdotes. Jessica Biel, as Abigail Whistler is more of the action heroine of few words. The villain, this time, is Dracula (Dominic Purcell of the tv show JOHN DOE) himself-or rather, the five-thousand year old creature who had assumed that guise. He is an intimidating creature in his 'true' form, more resembling a demon than anything else. It's revealed that he was the first vampire. He's also fond of wielding a sword, which comes into play during the final confrontation between him and blade. The group that Whistler and King work with is also devising a biological weapon which will target and kill vampires. But in order for it to work-and be effective on all the vampires-they have to inject Drake (Dracula) with the serum. Once this happens the virus will presumably spread and kill vampires. Not much is added to the BLADE character-Snipes has action sequences and one-liners and the majority of the movie is carried by the other vampire slayers. It would be interesting to see if there's a spin-off sequel just featuring them...
