This is an unusual movie in that it's a re-edit of an older vampire movie from the early 90's, called NIGHT OWL. Basically, a new beginning was shot, introducing some new vampires and also a bunch of victims are shown chained in the basement of an old house. Then, it cuts to the gritty 16mm black and white NIGHT OWL movie. What this new wraparound story does is explain in more detail what has happened to the 'Angel' character (John Leguizamo) at the end of the original version. My only complaint is that the new digital footage is far too crisp and clashes with the moody black and white, making it a bit jarring when the cut between the new and old footage is made. Directed by Jeffrey Arsenault.
