This one note horror movie has elements from LITTLE MONSTERS, MONSTERS INC., MONSTER IN THE CLOSET, and probably a dozen other films which deal with 'The Boogeyman'. Barry Watson portrays the young man who returns to his hometown to attend his mother's funeral. His therapist tells him that he can set some personal demons to rest if he spent one night in his childhood house. This house is where he saw his father taken by the Boogeyman, which came out of his closet.Everyone insisted that his father ran away-including his mother-but he knows otherwise. So he stays in the house, encounters the ghosts of all the children the creature killed-and in one weird sequence goes back and forth in time to various Boogeyman abduction locations. There are a couple of creepy moments, a la 'The Ring', but the computer animated Boogeyman isn't very frightening. A huge disappointment. DARKNESS FALLS, which deals with a similar theme, is a much much better horror movie.
