This is the perhaps the best vampire movie made in the last several years. In the near future vampires reveal themselves to humanity in hopes of peaceful co-existence but both sides are distrustful, particularly the humans, who live in this retro-fascist future. After his partner is killed by a rogue Nosferatu-ish vampire the human detective (Bokeem Woodbine) is paired up with a vampire detective (Adrian Paul) and together they have to stop the bloodthirsty maniac from ruining the peace. Vampires no longer need to drink human blood--they've come up with an artificial alternative. There's a lot packed in to this movie--really interesting production design, the casting is right on and storyline that has everything from Jewish vampires to the end of the world. Highly recommended.
