A dissatisfied plantation overseer (Raymond Burr) decides to kill his boss in order to take his young wife, who he is in love with. The feelings are mutual-but she has no idea what lengths he'll go to to get her. An old witch woman in the town sees the murder he commits and puts a curse on him, a curse that will slowly turn him into an animal.Well, as soon as he marries the newly widowed woman he starts to transform. His hand changes first, into this gorilla hand. Then, he changes and we see a POV shot of him, running through the woods, finally stopping at to look at his reflection in a pond-and the reflection is that of a gorilla or other large ape. Much to the dismay of his new wife he spends more and more time in the jungle.Soon, farm animals start being killed and mutilated and traps are set to catch the creature doing it. In the end he and his wife are killed when he's fired upon. The weird thing about this movie is why is he changing into a gorilla? You think that it would be one of the animals native to South America, not Africa. Maybe a jaguar or something. BRIDE OF THE GORILLA is basically a werewolf movie so if you like those you'll like this.
