Tony Todd plays The Candyman, a killer with a hook for a hand who appears when his name is said 5 times in a mirror (I tried this and replaced his name with Salma Hayek with no luck...go figure). Anyhow, The Candyman's story dates back to the late 1800's where a black man falls in love with a white woman. Her father sends some goons to take care of him. They cut off his hand, covered him in honey and unleashed a shitload of bees on him. The Candyman is now back and trying to make life a living hell for a local student who is studying Urban Legends. Loosely based on a Clive Barker short story, The Candyman is one of the better 'urban legend' flicks floating around. The film is fairly well done with some decent gore, but don't slip and fall in the plot holes. Good rainy night rental.
