The first half of this live-action movie is great, exactly what it should be. In 1943 a lame Steve Rogers (Matt Salinger) volunteers for an Army experiment that will transform him into a Super Soldier. The doctor who came up with the serum had previously done this in Italy and is responsible for creating "The Red Skull". Now, she wants to undo that mistake. Captain America is sent to Italy to stop the villain from firing a missile onto Washington, DC but gets captured and strapped to the missile. At the last minute he manages to divert it and send it crashing into Alaska, where he's frozen for nearly fifty years. From this point on the movie steadily gets worse. He literally walks home and meets with is old girlfriend, Bernie, who is now in her late seventies, and is introduced to her daughter (portrayed by the same actress), Sharon. After Bernie gets killed, Captain America and Sharon go to Italy to stop the Red Skull, who is now a businessman. There's a lot of running around as they are pursued by the Red Skull's daughter and a somewhat lackluster ending which involves him saving the President of the United States (Ronny Cox), who is taken hostage.
Directed by Albert Pyun.
