Huge storms, a result of the greenhouse effect, make their way to Chicago and decimate that city. Videotaping this is Tornado Tommy (Randy Quaid), a weatherman turned Storm Chaser, who is the most interesting character in this three hour tale. Other plotlines involve Nancy McKeon as a tv reporter determined to uncover the truth about the weird weather, her pregnant sister-in-law trapped in an elevator, and William Gibson (DHARMA & GREG) as the manager of an electric company, who is having an affair and must choose between the sexpot and his wife. This is a decent enough disaster movie, but pales in comparison to any Irwin Allen movie from the 70's (EARTHQUAKE, TOWERING INFERNO, et cetera).
