This Hallmark original movie is an inferior sequel to CATEGORY 6: DAY OF DESTRUCTION. Soon after Chicago is destroyed, huge tornadoes flatten Paris, France and then obliterate the pyramids in Egypt.A scientist has a theory as to why this is happening (it's related to the amount of energy/heat cities produce, combined with atmospheric conditions created by the Green House effect). Gina Gershon is the newly appointed director of FEMA, and she gets his help in trying to stop the storms from wiping Washington DC off the map. Randy Quaid returns as 'Tornado Tommy', a character from the first movie who is far more subdued here and is used to little effect. Shannon Doherty is just kind of there as his assistant. There's also a stereotypical subplot about a religious group who thinks this is truly the 'end of days' and they kidnap the first born children of a lot of politicians. This is a three-hour snoozer.
