In this Stephen King's version of the zombie apocalypse John Cusack portrays graphic novelist Clay Riddell. After a year of being alone, he's at the airport and wants to reunite with is son. However, this is bad timing because everyone on their cell phones begins acting crazy. He manages to escape and soon meets up with another survivor, Tom (Samuel L. Jackson). They quickly surmise that everyone's been affected who was on their cell phones. All these "zombies" are receptors to what ever signal is controlling them. Clay is determined to find out if his wife and son are alive and along the way they meet up with a few others, including Alice, who lived his his wife's apartment building. Everything that happens is a bit predictable and it has a very downbeat but not surprising ending. A similar movie that I liked much better is PONTYPOOL.
