A group of women are taking a vacation together at a secluded house in the country. There's a blonde, a redhead, an African American, a nerd and a lesbian. They are all equally irritating. Then, some of their boyfriends show up that night, though they end up leaving. The next morning it's very foggy and two of the women go outside and notice the smell of bleach--and see a lot of dead birds. Once back at the house they turn on the television and there's a newscast about a chemical spill from a train accident. It warns people that it's deadly and that they should stay inside. One of the boyfriends comes back, pounding on the door, but they won't let him in. Then, one of the women go out and is burned from the acidic properties of the fog. She comes across the dead boyfriend. When she goes back the redhead locks her out . We now see that the chemical fog is killing and dissolving the local wildlife. The woman start becoming sick, because the house isn't airtight. When one of them decides to take a shower she has a horrible surprise--the chemicals react with water and quickly dissolve her.
Then, a guy in long johns (Ruben Pla of BIG ASS SPIDER!) breaks in and looks for foo. He explains he's a hunter and that his dog died. The redhead accidently shoots him with his own shotgun. And then things degenerate even more...
CHEMICAL PEEL is a grim, end of the world type movie with a downbeat ending. It reminds me of a ecological horror movie from the 70's. Recommended.
