This second sequel to CLASS OF 1984 (and direct sequel to 1999) is the weakest of the trio with the fewest special effects. What special effects we do see are primarily from flashback sequences of the previous movie. Events here pick up right after those android school teachers are killed. A man is on the trail of what he believes is an escaped machine, who poses as a substitute teacher at dangerous schools. When we are first introduced to The Substitute (Sasha Michell) he kills a gang of violent high schoolers by tossing a grenade into their car, exploding them all. Then he moves on to a new school, where he befriends a young blonde teacher who is being harassed by a gang of youths from her school. All the other teachers try to discourage her from testifying against the group's leader, who had shot another student in front of her, but the Substitute encourages her to stick with her beliefs. Basically, the movie is a cross between TERMINATOR and those SUBSTITUTE movies with Tom Berenger and Treat Williams. The twist ending can be seen coming the first fifteen minutes of the movie.
