Director/Writer/Producer/Actor David Lee Stewart takes the scenario from the short story 'The Most Dangerous Game' and successfully expands upon it, creating a decent thriller which keeps the viewer hooked.A young guy (Stewart, who is also the main actor) awakens to find himself dressed in a blue outfit and in the middle of a deep forest. He wanders around, finding no sign of civilization, until he runs into a woman who is in the same circumstances as he. She's shot in the head and he sees that it's because of a hunter. It turns out that they are the prey and that this forest is a huge nature preserve-for humans. He runs into another survivor, an African-American who has managed to survive for years by hiding in a hidden cave. But there's something not quite right about the guy, which is revealed when we're shown how he's survived-by eating the other humans in the preserve. We're introduced to some of the hunters, in particular a crazy guy who hunts with a variety of knives rather than a rifle.I have to commend Stewart for not making this into another boring retread of 'humans being the hunted'. The special effects are sparse but cool (those hovercrafts and the force-field) and the fight scenes well choreographed. You believe these people are really fighting. CONFINEMENT is one of the best true independent movies of 2005. Check out www.davidstewartproductions.com for more information
