A plane load of people returning to the States from South America eat shrimp contaminated with cholera. One of those passengers is a man smuggling cocaine wrapped in balloons inside his stomach. Right after he meets his contacts he starts convulsing and dies. They think one of the balloons ruptured and he had an overdose. The boss orders one of his lackeys to cut open his stomach and get the drugs. Days later that man dies of cholera as well. Lindsay Wagner (Bionic Woman) is the doctor who finds out that cholera is spreading throughout Los Angeles. She and her colleagues must find out where it originated and how it's spreading. But because the viewer already knows where it came from there's not a lot of suspense here. Elizabeth Pena (JACOBS LADDER) is a policewoman trying to track down the cocaine dealers and Tom Wopatt (DUKES OF HAZARD) is Wagner's new husband. Wagner is good in the part but the movie is somewhat lackluster. There are much much better disease movies out there.
