Ron Ford's newest is a must see if you're a fan of 'B' films, schlock cinema or those great old sci-fi films of the 50's. Crawling Brain demonstrates low budget filming making for entertainment's sake at its finest. How can you go wrong when a movie opens with a topless sunbather being attack by a brain creature that scurries across the ground? The creature reminded me of the monsters in that classic film Fiend without a face, so maybe that's why I liked this so much. A mixture of nudity, gore, an old silent film star, a twisted plot, and great (sorta) acting combine to make this movie a real unexpected treat. Never would have guessed this one would be so damn cool. Anita Page does a great job as grandma Anita. The plot here borders on insanity and you have to witness it to believe it. I'll just say that there's a Nazi brain, a love story, nice tittys, and the scariest giant man/boy actor of all times. He is what I imagine Leatherface looks like beneath the mask, that would be if Leatherface came out of the closet I mean. Most of the killing here is in the good name of science of course, or to keep a Nazi brain alive, so it's all good. Watching the big, femme acting grandson turn into a mean murder machine was surprisingly gratifying. Not as gratifying as seeing Stephanie Beaton shed the clothes, but a close 2nd. Not sure what the status on the release of this is, but I hope it becomes widely available soon. If interested, look on Ron Ford's website and email for details. It's worth seeing.
