CREEP is an effective horror movie, in the vein of THE HILLS HAVE EYES and TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE with a bit of C.H.U.D. thrown in. A young woman (Franka Potente of the ANATOMY movies) falls asleep while waiting for a subway train in London and is locked in for the night. A train eventually comes but it is empty-and little does she know that the conductor is murdered. Also aboard this train is a male acquaintance she just blew off at a party-and attempts to rape her. In the midst of this a side door opens and he's quickly dragged out by his feet, screaming as if being eaten alive.Freaked, she gets out of the train and runs through the tunnel to the nearest platform. Something is after her. She befriends a homeless couple who live in one of the walls, though they are attacked-as is one of the station guards who might have been her last hope for rescue. She eventually finds herself captured and held prisoner in this weird underground sewage treatment area, where she encounters another survivor, a sewer worker we saw at the beginning of the movie. It turns out that the deformed villain was the product of some mysterious experiment conducted underground, and the lab is kept as a sort of shrine to all the other deformed children kept in bottles. He also feeds the rats his leftovers.CREEP is an on-the-edge-of-your-seat thriller, a cut (and spear) above the majority of the recent horror releases.
