THE CREEP is a cool little movie (60 minutes), a homage to those 50's/60's B-Movie thrillers. The film is introduced by host Forrest J. Ackerman, as Dr. Acula, setting up the tone for what is to follow. The Creep (Rodney Lee) is a psychopathic character with moppy hair, bad teeth and unpleasant body odor. In the first ten minutes he gets two teenage kids in a car accident when he hides in their backseat, kicks a blind man and steals his money, and kills a dog with a brick. On Halloween he even steals candy from kids! His dirty deeds escalate to murder when he stabs an innocent bystander with an ice-pick. The police track him to his lair-an underground cave-and find some decapitated heads. But can they catch him before he kills some more? The filmmakers did a great job with making this look like a flick from the 50's, with black and white images, use of vintage vehicles and good production values all around. What I liked best is that they didn't treat this as a spoof. Check out ww.wrayfilmprod.com if you're interested in the DVD.
