Larry Buchanan's seminal swamp schlock classic really needs to burn it's vision of swamp terror into your brain asap. The old crazy DR. experimenting on people in the swamp scenario has seldom been more inspired.... really. Well, actually, you'll do more laughing and groaning than shrieking in terror. The plot is darn simple and silly as people looking for to swindle an oil deal in the swamp stumble into the good Dr.'s lair. He's striving,of course, to create a superior race of swamp man, using anyone he can catch as fodder for his failed attempts. The swindlers get the big swindle and it all hits the fan when the creature attacks. Damn, it was a joy to behold. I'm not sure what was up with the locals and their drum system of communication, no telephones in the everglades I reckon. They sure did a lot of beating off whenever trouble was afoot. This mid-sixties monster mash has a special charm if nothing else. Larry Buchanan fans must see it. If you're a swamp monster kinda guy or gal, guess you have to see it also.
