This Australian slasher movie tries really hard to be the 'down under' version of SCREAM, with lots of in-jokes, twenty-something characters and a familiar villain, yet comes off as just another forgettable formulaic copy of so many other similar movies, most notably Wes Craven's NEW NIGHTMARE. Molly Ringwald portrays a bitchy actress who was almost killed during the production of 'HOT BLOODED'. Twelve years later a group of film students get the rights to finish shooting the movie and convince Ringwald to be in it.As soon as the shooting at the old location starts killings start happening--and when it's revealed that the killer isn't really human but the persona of the character from the movie that has somehow taken shape--you just want to utter 'Huh?' and smack your head. CUT doesn't quite cut it.
