A couple and their son relocate to a new house because of his new computer job. The wife is immediately drawn to this one house, though, which has all these strange panel windows which twists the light in weird ways. Soon after they move in she starts to notice some strange things, things that are only in the mirror. For example, the hallway in her house has only one closet but when she looks in the mirror at it, it has two distinct closets. When she tries to take a photograph of herself in the mirror she ends up taking a photo of a different room in the house, as if the mirror is some kind of passageway. When she tries to explain all of this to her overworked, cynical husband, he thinks she is nuts and doesn't want to talk about it. She also discovers that a famous painter once lived there and that he and his family mysteriously vanished. She thinks solving their mystery will help explain all the unexplainable things she has seen.
She's also a photographer--and everyone she takes a photograph of begins to disappear. And she starts seeing glimpses of a hooded figure stalking her. Is this the ghost of the painter? Or is it something else.
I liked most of this movie. It has some creepy moments, such as when a murdered lady sinks and disappears into a pool of her own blood. I did not like the ending, though, when she confronts what/who is actually doing everything. It seemed way too familiar and I was expecting a bigger payoff.
