This is an impressive 45 minute zombie movie done on a shoestring budget. The opening scene shows a guy fighting and killing these mud-covered people, which reminded me of 28 DAYS LATER in terms of how they moved and attacked. Why is he doing this and who are these feral people?The plot is simple: There's something in the nearby woods that's causing people to disappear.When several college-aged guys move into their new place they encounter a guy, torn up, exiting the forest. It looks like he was savaged by animals. They call the police, who tell them that many people have disappeared, with no clue to what happened to them. Later, one of the guys ventures into the woods and is bit. He refuses to tell his friends what happened and becomes reclusive. Eventually he freaks out and runs into the woods. Of the two remaining friends, one returns home and the other stays. He hooks up with the guy who was killing the zombies at the beginning of the movie-and they venture into the woods together to kill the creatures.Director David Matheny has made a cool, creepy, well-done horror short that's far more entertaining & well-done than some recent multi-million dollar zombie flicks I've seen such as HOUSE OF THE DEAD.
