The stories in this British series revolve around three teenaged friends, Reet (Kate Winslet), Thomas and Marcie.
The first three episodes comprise the first story, about a company that is trying to take over the student body by computers. They are called Abyss computers, which is a hint if there ever was one. Everyone is given a free computer to take home. One of the students is turned into this mutant with weird eyes and Reet and Thomas get zapped so that they can mentally communicate with a computer. One a certain day all the computers will be activated--and be able to control all of the children. In charge of the diabolical plan is Mr. Eldritch, this sinister punk-looking guy with sunglasses and bleached hair. It's up to the three friends to find the computer's original inventor, Dr. Polzinski, to stop them.
The other three episodes also involve a computer, the "Behemoth", which is buried beneath their school. I thought this story was far more interesting, though Eldritch shows up at the end and hams it up.
The most interesting aspect of the show is seeing Kate Winslet in one of her first roles, as a fat, rather homely, not so likable teenager.
