The Barrett family is having some problems. The father, Daniel, was laid off from his architecture job and is job hunting. The mother, Lacy (Keri Russell of The Americans) isn't having much luck with her realty sales. And their two sons are having behavioral problems in school. Then, weirder things start to happen, such as someone stacking everything into a weird sculpture in their kitchen and removing all the family photos from all the picture frames in the house. There's the sleepwalking--and hundreds of birds bombarding the house. Lacy does some research on the internet about these things and comes to the conclusion that they are being abducted by aliens. She finally convinces her husband, who seems to have in implant behind his ear, and they go see an expert, Edwin Pollard, who basically tells them that there's not much they can do. He's alarmed that one of the sons seems targeted and informs them that the aliens often abduct the first person in the family they meet. He tells them to put up a fight when the aliens come to take him...
I was someone hesitant to watch this alien abduction movie, the main reason I waited until the home video DVD release, so I was surprised at how well-done this horror film was. Highly recommended, one of the best horror movies of 2013.
