From the writer and the director of the original RING movie, this ghost story is very similar in that it deals with water and a little dead girl.A newly divorced mother and her daughter move to a dingy old apartment building. There is a leak in their ceiling but they don't think anything of it at first. Then, the leak grows, eventually becoming so bad that her apartment is becoming flooded. She goes up to the apartment above hers and discovers that it once belonged to a father and daughter who lived there. And the little girl had mysteriously disappeared several years before. There's also this old water tower atop the building which plays an obvious role. Turns out that the girl had dropped her bag and drowned in the thing-and wants nothing more than to have a mother to take care of her. There are a few creepy moments, such as when she's holding onto a child's hand in the elevator-and it's not her daughters-and when the corpse girl tries to hug her.I've been seeing so many of these Asian movies lately that they're all becoming the same-ghost stories where there is some kind of revenge. This has been remade by Hollywood-and the preview I've seen looks almost exactly like the original. But it you've seen this then there's probably no reason to see that one, unless you're a Jennifer Connelly fan.
