The end of George Romero's walking dead folks trilogy finds the world overrun with zombie creeping flesheaters out to finish off mankind. Although not as haunting as The Night or as classic as The Dawn, Day works well and has plenty of gruesome scenes and funny dialog. Savini's FX are the real highlight here throughout. The last great dead film was a decent end to the series, or was it really the end? Rumors fly to the contrary, but for now this is it. Pretty cool plot, a trained zombie, and a pretty bleak future add up to good entertainment in my view. It wasn't quite as good as I'd have hoped for to finish things off, but there was a lot to follow here. How do you make three classic zombie films in a row? Well, I guess you don't. Still, I'd call Day a minor classic in its on light. It still brought the red stuff in buckets. It made us all think just like the previous two films by the time the credits rolled. Until there is a twilight, The day will do just fine.
