This is a goofy, somewhat funny zombie movie about a group of guys who work at a car rental place and discover that the world has turned undead around them. It's told from the point-of-view of Jim, who must also contend with two very different women, one of them his "ex"(girlfriend). The most entertaining character is Dick, the oldest guy who's also the most bitter and jaded. He's a hoot. While the writing is engaging, the execution is somewhat cheap. The shot-on-video looks like video (no 24 frames), the lighting is a bit overexposed and the zombies range from half-decent to grease-paint. DEAD MOON RISING is perhaps only for the most die-hard zombie fans.
