The type of zombies presented in this UK mini-series are the fast kind of zombies, like the DAWN OF HE DEAD remake or 28 DAYS LATER. In fact, this could take place in the same universe as that DAWN, as the only way to kill them is to destroy their brains.
The program centers around the "Big Brother" show, which is obviously way more popular in England than it is here. The zombie outbreak quickly takes over the world--and the show contestants are oblivious to what's going on, since they've been isolated for months. That is, until a production assistant breaks in and tells them that zombies have taken over the world. She quickly is thrust into the leadership position which is challenged when the producer of the show, a total wanker, shows up, insulting everyone and demanding they do things his way though his way is likely to get them all killed.
Good special effects, surprisingly gory and a very downbeat ending, a la "NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD".
