This made-for-video sequel is much lighter in tone than the original, more or less geared for kids. A stable boy finds a young dragon named Drake that's being hidden in the local monastery and befriends him. The stable boy has dreams of becoming a knight of the realm-and almost lets this desire to get in his way of his friendship for the dragon. An old Chinese master and his student appear-and they want to test and see if the dragon is good or evil. If he fails to pass their test they will kill him. There is also the local king's advisor, who wants the dragon for his own purposes. The one thing I didn't expect was for him to be the evil dragon cursed to live as a human, which was cool. The animation isn't as realistic as the first movie and Drake kept on reminding me of 'PETE'S DRAGON', but it's a decent enough sequel.
