The premise of this fake documentary is that a dragon is found frozen high in the Carpathian mountains along with several humans, dating from the 16th century, who appear as if they were battling the creature to the death. The remains are removed and studied by scientists-and it's explained, through science, how the types of dragon developed, how they can fly and how they can breath fire. The movie starts with a young prehistoric dragon battling a Tyrannosaurus, which is quite cool. Yet this species of dragon became extinct when the dinosaurs did. The 'modern dragon' evolved from a common crocodilian ancestor of this first species, a creature which inhabited the Earth's oceans when the mass extinctions happened on the land. It's surmised that some of these dragons remained aquatic, giving rise to all the legends about sea monsters, while others became land dwelling (as with the Chinese Dragon) and others, living in the mountains, changed into the dragon we know of today.Patrick Stewart narrates
